HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB !
‘75 isn’t all that bad. I have tried it for over a year now.
But remember – there are 800 things that you can die from, but only one will kill you.

Subject: [Craic] Twilight Zone...article from The New York Review of Books
For those among you who must have been drawn into the orbit of the Twilight Zone, see the attachment below for a rather long but first rate perspective on Rod Serling’s rare creative contribution.
In a late episode whose theme was mob mentality, “I Am the Night: Color Me Black,” he deplored “a sickness known as hate. Not a virus, not a microbe, not a germ—but a sickness nonetheless, highly contagious, deadly in its effects. Don’t look for it in the Twilight Zone—look for it in the mirror. Look for it before the light goes out altogether.”
Excellent article about Serling, a great myth-buster inside the belly of the “fabulous fifties.” He searched out the monsters and demons lurking in the subterranean caverns of that era, many of which have hatched in recent years.
Currently reading “The Decadent Age” by Ross Douthat from the New York Times. Again, interesting big picture reflections on our entire generation’s passage from post-war through the 50’s to the revolutionary 60’s and right on to our current tribalized and troubled social fracturing.
Finally...as I just turned 75 today, I believe that I have at last entered the Twilight Zone and “another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind.” I am OK with that dimension as long as it doesn’t mean going blind, deaf and demented.
Bob
