[Craic] What happened to American conservatives ?

I found the article an exceptionally good articulation of conservatism and its  history. Well done indeed.

However, in terms of answering the question it posed, it certainly fell short for me. The question could/should also ask what has happened to American liberals? Only by more compellingly explaining how we got to this point can we see our way out and go forward with hope.
