Subject: COVID vaccine and blood clots

Now we have another COVID vaccine accused of causing venous blood clots. There have been 6 cases of venous thrombosis in women from 18 to 48 years of age in those receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Over 7 million J and J shots have been given. Why young women? The answer is estrogen that has long been know to cause venous thrombosis. Let's put this in perspective. The rate of blood clots in women taking the oral contraceptives (estrogen is a component of oral contraceptives) is 0.06 per 100 pill years. This means that 1 in every 1,667 woman who use the pill for a year will get such a blood clot (a friend of wife actually died of such a clot). The use of the pill has been extremely wide spread since the 1960's and this rate of venous blood clots is thought to be acceptable as opposed to the many unwanted pregnancies that would otherwise result. Compare 1 out of 1,667 caused by the pill to 1 in over 1 million caused by the J and J COVID vaccine and it makes one wonder why all this fuss is being made.

By the way, in case you are wondering, the rate of venous thrombosis in pregnancy (which is a hyper-estrogen state) is 0.2 per 100 pregnancies which means that such a clot occurs in every 500 pregnancies. Just think, if women would just stop getting pregnant we could dramatically reduce venous thrombosis and solve the population crisis to boot. Paul.
