<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The forceful statement from the Vatican's Cardinal Peter Turkson comes just as the U.S. bishops' conference prepares to vote on a new document about the Eucharist, a document rooted in the
<strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">partisan desires of right-wing bishops to delegitimize Biden.</span></strong><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Cardinal Turkson's comments also follow similar remarks from Pope Francis himself, who told reporters last month that he has never denied Communion to anyone and that bishops should be pastoral, not political. The difference
is that the Cardinal specifically discussed Biden -- not just the general issue -- so the culture warriors can't spin what he meant.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Turkson left no room for doubt.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">"The Eucharist should not in any way become a weapon," Cardinal Turkson said</span></strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> to reporter Mike Allen of
<em><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Axios</span></em>. "If you say somebody cannot receive Communion, you are basically doing a judgment that you are in a state of sin."<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Allen specifically asked the cardinal if that applied to Biden -- and Cardinal Turkson told him, "No." It is now clearer than ever: Partisan bishops aren't just out of step with the
<strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">67% of Catholics who support Biden taking Communion </span></strong>(per Pew Research). They're even out of step with Pope Francis and the Vatican.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
