I'm not sure this is a good example. It seems to me that this man's
particular needs are so costly because he wants to remain at home. That's
a totally different matter. He could get all those needs tended to if he
were in a Nursing Home and there are Nursing Homes that are supplemented by
the government for those who can't afford to pay.
One of the consent qualifications for MAID is that the person is not
choosing MAID because they can't get alternative care. It seems to me he
wouldn't qualify for MAID as his case is presented now.
