In the Throne Speech last September, the federal government made an
historic promise to “completely eliminate chronic homelessness”. This is a
major milestone but we need to make sure they keep their promise and put
the resources needed to fulfill it in the upcoming budget.

Our advocacy has been heard loudly in 2020, but in order to fulfill our
policy objectives this year, we need decision-makers to know that we are
still motivated and mobilized.

This is why we’re urging Members of Parliament to make ending homelessness
their 2021 New Year’s resolution. Will you help us by sending a letter

The New Year and the arrival of vaccines brings renewed hope the pandemic
will soon be behind us and we can focus on recovery. But in that recovery
we can’t go back to the old normal. Normal meant 235,000 people per year
experiencing homelessness (over 1.6 million Canadians over their lifetimes)
all at life-threatening risk for no other reason than the lack of a home.

With your help, we can ensure the federal government makes the smart and
targeted investments we’ve all been calling for and we will begin the end
of homelessness in Canada, once and for all.
