Hi, all,

I was really sorry to have missed our Zoom mass this morning. Honestly, I
had a very bad night trying to sleep and while doing everything recommended
for an insomniac only drifted off into a really good sleep about the time
the sun was coming up. I turned off all the alarms on my cell phone and
realized that I just wasn't going to make it.

I had wanted to share with the community what I had viewed last night
through YouTube. The link was forwarded to me by a friend and I tried to
find the link through my own search but failed to find it. However, it is
easy to find using YouTube's search function. It is called Messiah/Complex
and takes about an hour and a half to watch. For those of us who know the
music well, it is a treat - and for those of us who value Canada's
diversity, it is wonderful to see the variety of faces and languages sung.
I am definitely going to give it another look.

(And, by the way, one of things I did in the wee hours was start to read a
book called "From the Ashes". It is the memoir of a half-Cree man named
Jesse Thistle who has experienced addiction and homelessness in his life.
It is just so beautifully written! I won't give it a review because I've
only just begun, but I highly recommend it. Sorry, Lee, I got it from
Amazon. My library needs an infusion of fresh stuff and I am currently cut
off from my former source of fresh reading material, which are thrift store
shelves - mostly Value Village. I now have access to Hamilton Public
LIbrary's collection, both digital and real and the nearest library is only
a few blocks away but until I feel safer on the outside stairs on my own
(and when it is warmer and lighter) I will just be a digital user. I am
also thankful for the fact that unlimited access to the Internet is
affordable for me. (It is cheaper here than in Toronto,)

As for homelessness, I couldn't help but be thankful for the cozy warmth of
this little house (though bigger by far than my one bedroom apt. in Mimico)
on this blustery and cold day. While I listen to a combination of the wind
blowing around outside and the sound of the air-forced heat inside, myy
prayers today have been full of thoughts about those who do not have the
luxury of a warm house with indoor plumbing and access to a hot meal and
cup of tea. After my experiences over the past couple of years I no longer
take for granted a place to call home.

Much love and peace to you all, Pat
(And let me know if you watched this video and how you found it.)
