Is this for real??  Why are you trying to pick a public fight with me?  

Ask yourself, why are you so preoccupied in insisting women are not equal to men? 

The fact that I’ve asked you to desist but you will not stop - something that is far too uncomfortably familiar to women - is one reason I push back when I see sexism.

The condescending and offensive tone of these emails to me, in particular the subject lines, is another.

The fact that such attitudes have resulted in 1 in four women reporting assault, that women earn on average 23% less than men in Canada, that women are interrupted 8 times more than men, etc etc is another (StatsCan). And let’s not start on the structure of our Church which apparently has taught you to fight with any woman who insists on the full equality of men and women.

The fact that instead of educating yourself you would rather argue with me and attempt to belittle me.

I could go on but the truth is you’re not interested.  You just want to be able to drop your twisted theologies on all of us uncontested. You want to show your dominance if arguments arise rather than respect my or others’ request to be allowed to leave the conversation or hear what actual living women have to say for ourselves in all our uniqueness and diversity.  You want two easy categories of women - the ‘Eves (sluts and sinners deserving of mistreatment) and the Marys (frigid saints so high above you you don’t have to include them in the affairs of the world until they tumble off their pedestals and then of course, are deserving of any evil that befalls them).

Now, go to the library and start looking up books on feminist theology (or what I just call “theology” because everyone should read some).  Start with Ruether, Schussler-Fiorenza, Johnson.

Your education or lack thereof is your responsibility.  Again, please desist with your increasingly offensive emails to me. 

Moderator, if Brian continues to subject me to these types of emails I would ask you to intervene.  I cannot block him without blocking the entire list.  

To everyone else, I’m sorry you’ve had to be a part of this.
