Re Arthur's link, reading the title, "Divide and Rule...." rings such a
bell.  Yes.  Becoming disposable, or being seen just as we are - disposable
- because we will mostly go quietly, is a concept that seems to explain so
much.  BUT.  I see people everywhere who are resisting.  Some of the
resistance seems futile, but every bit of it leaves a mark and encourages
NOT going quietly.  And we have ages of history of Christian efforts.  And
of people of good will, of faith, or of simply strong human spirit, working
together and so *hope lives*!  But of course, that puts it back on us,
ordinary people, to keep it alive.  Rosemary
