Global Day for Climate Justice


As world leaders meet in Glasgow for COP26, organizers are planning a
Global Day of Action for Climate Justice on *November 6*.

In Toronto, the demands for this day of action include respecting
Indigenous sovereignty, phasing out fossil fuels, a just transition for
communities and workers, and global justice that recognizes the impact of
climate change on the Global South. People of faith have long been part of
the ecological struggle. COP26 is an opportunity for us to amplify the cry
of the earth and the cry of the poor. As the organizers say on their
website, “while no one can escape the impacts of these crises, those who
have done least to cause them suffer the most….We need system change that
comes from the ground up.”

The Toronto day of action will take place on *Saturday,* *November 6,
1pm-2pm, at Queen’s Park*.

An ecumenical group will gather together thirty minutes before the rally at
12:30pm, meeting *at the northwest corner of Wellesley and Queen’s Park
Crescent* (see the map below).

There will be speakers, music and arts performers as part of the program
and interactive actions that attendees can participate in together. More
