Dear Gregory,

This coming Monday marks the 43rd UN *International Day of Solidarity with
the Palestinian People. *November 29th was chosen for its meaning and
significance to Palestinians, as it also marks the *unjust and unethical
UN-led partition of Palestine* on 29th November 1947.

For *74 years* we Palestinians have endured *Israel’s brutal regime of
apartheid, settler-colonialism and military occupation* preventing us from
enjoying freedom, justice and equality in our homeland.

*But the tide is changing*! Over the past 18 months, *calls for a UN-led
investigation into Israeli apartheid have intensified globally*, most
notably from South Africa and Namibia, as well as from hundreds of
political and civil society leaders in the Global South. The UK Labour
Party’s conference in October also overwhelmingly voted for condemning
Israeli apartheid and upholding Palestinian rights, including our refugees’
right of return. In June, former UN chief Ban Ki-moon suggested that Israel
is imposing apartheid on Palestinians.

Last year, 47 independent human rights experts within the UN stated that
the Israeli government plans to illegally annex large parts of the occupied
West Bank would constitute “a vision of a 21st-century apartheid.”
