[Sundaycommunity] Padre Melo, Solidarity in a Covid-19 World and all out Class War

Hi all

I participated in the Jesuits International webinar "Solidarity In a 
Covid-19 World

on Nov. 9th,2021.  I was particularly resonant with the words of Padre 
Melo from El Progreso, Honduras.

Padre Melo describes our Covid-19 world as one in which we as a global 
people must chose between a life giving future for our children or  
death and hopelessness  through our acquiescence to the  comfort and 
security of our egotism and selfishness.

Melo says that many countries have responded to the crisis of our time 
with increased force and repression to control through fear those 
sectors of our peoples who pose a threat to the Capitalist Status quo.   
There is a move to increased militarization and repression in which the  
big loser is democracy. He notes that there is an "extreme manipulation 
of information" in our media. Given this reality he says that we have 
three temptations to distract us from global solidarity.

 1. immediate violent change being proposed by the insurrectionists in
    his country
 2. Remain passive and submissive to the authorities
 3. Escape from the reality of this crisis.

 From his discourse I got the sense that we the global people are all in 
this together.  Solidarity is recognizing that we are din the same 
boat.  In Canada we also have to realize that their is an "extreme 
manipulation of information" in our own CBC.  I can see daily that 
increasingly information that threatens the dominant narrative is 
deleted from social media. At the same time  our national media channels 
do not cover descent which is happening in other parts of the world. 
O'Murcho writes, our Gospel mandate is one of inclusivity. Yet,  we now 
live in an anti-Christian segregated society where the media has 
identified the unvaccinated class as responsible for the suffering 
caused by Covid-19.  When asked about the vaccines in Honduras, Melo 
says that they are being used by the Honduran government to increase its 
control over the population.  This is no different from what is 
happening in Canada.

Forbes has revealed 660 new billionaires in 2021.  Jeff Bezos, saw his 
net worth grow by 59.1% over the course of 2020.  Tesla CEO Elon Musk 
became the second-richest man in the world, with his net worth growing 
by a staggering 437%. Bill Gates' net worth was up 14%, while Facebook 
CEO Mark Zuckerberg's grew 32.3%.  The number of multimillionaires have 
also increased in an inordinate amount.   Meanwhile those at the bottom 
of the wealth pyramid both in Canada and in the world.  Hardest hit were 
those in small business startups with some losing their entire 
investment while others losing their income going increasingly in debt.  
While once employed people were paid to stay home,  medium and small 
businesses were shut down, leaving only the large corporations like 
Amazon, Walmart and Costco as viable channels of consumption.  Melo 
confirmed that this same trend happened in his country.  The Billionaire 
owned extractive industries remained in full operation even while most 
of the other businesses in his country were closed.  The world over has 
seen the rise in power and wealth of the billionaire class as the poorer 
classes became more impoverished.

Any suggestion that this historically massive transfer of wealth and 
power from the poor to the rich was planned in any way is denounced by 
the media indoctrinated public as conspiracy theory and misinformation.  
Even as the World Economic Forum and other world leaders including 
Justin Trudeau announce the need for a great reset involving a new 
currency based on a digital ID, there is extreme public denial of any 
relationship to the digital ID passports being implemented throughout 
the world for proof of vaccine. While people the world over are being 
isolated and locked down, trillion dollar investment portfolios like 
Blackwater and Vanguard with access to unlimited free loans are buying 
up  assets at an unprecedented rate.  We are moving into the new normal 
of technocratic feudalism where according to Vandana Shiva, three 
classes will prevail:

 1. The super wealthy to whom no rules apply
 2. The digital slave class who are charged with maintaining the system
 3. and the useless class or as Bill Gates has called them: the useless
    eaters

Melo when asked about COP26, declared that the interests of the poor are 
not represented there.  You have to receive an invitation to appear and 
only the representatives of the rich and powerful are invited. Better, 
he says to form our own organizations to create the future that we want 
than depend on the futures being offered by the World Economic Forum and 
the billionaire class. As Church, in the past we have resisted the 
directives of the IMF, the WEF and other UN organizations because we 
have seen the suffering that these organizations have wrought upon the 
poor of our world.

In a similar vein we should be aware of who funds the WHO. Once the USA 
withdrew their funding from the WHO, the largest contributor was the 
Bill and Belinda Gates Foundation.  Is it to wild to think that the WHO 
might be serving the interests of the Billionaire class who are funding 
their operations.  Perhaps as we have in the past attempted to develop 
organizations like the World Social Forum to coordinate our solidarity 
with the poor on international development so should we consider an 
organizing a pandemic response that is based on science and not on the 
plans of the billionaire class to establish a techno-feudalistic 
totalitarian future.  It is time that we realize that we are in a class 
war with  psychopathic overlords who do not care about anybody outside 
their class.  The real enemy of the church are not the right wing 
detractors of Pope Francis who condemn the sacrificing of our children 
to the technocratic Idol of Moloch, but the unbridled technocratic class 
described in Chapter three of Laudato Si.
