[Sundaycommunity] Adding my personal thanks to all for the wonderful celebrationof Thanksgiving this morning.

Hello, everyone,

Thanksgiving has always been a favourite holiday of mine.  I think of it as
a family holiday where people who love one another gather together around a
feast lovingly prepared.  In years when I had a plot in a community garden
we had produce that had been lovingly grown (and for a couple of years my
son Gabriel shared in that).  Sticky issues around presents, and differing
religion affiliations are for another time.


Tomorrow I will be sharing a feast with my daughter and her partner.  That
is after I share a Zoom meeting with my children's father and them (he sets
it up).  I am not contributing anything this year and will let the two
former chefs decide on menu etc.  I've already put in my bid for my
favourites.  (Lots of nutmeg and not too much sugar in the pumpkin pie,
sage and apple stuffing . . . )

Thank you for all the beautiful reflections that were shared this morning,
both those prepared and those during the Prayers of the Faithful.  I am
grateful that we have the means to have our masses during the pandemic and
that we can share.  And happy to see those in the community that aren't in
Toronto and still join.

(PS:  Were there a lot of us feeling particularly sleepy today?  Not long
after we were finished I went back to my bed and slept for most of the
afternoon, noting that many yawns during our liturgy.)
