Report from the Pipeline Blockade in Wet’suwet’en Territory in BC




Hello Team,




Our CPT team has been here for a week already - two to go.

The blockades camp is called Coyote Camp and our role is “Legal Observer.”




Everyday, Monday through Saturday, the RCMP have come into the camp and looked everywhere with no formal talks with the leaders. Our job is to monitor their activities making notes, photos and videos. I’ll attach some pix below.






We expect an all-out raid soon with arrests etc. (which might involve the four of us). he Land and Water Defenders have several lockdown sites which the RCMP have surveyed on each visit and, we presume, figuring how they might remove the persons involved. Our hope is to deter any violent RCMP actions towards those resisting their removal such as happened here two weeks ago.




We are living rough: cold, mud, drafty tents but good food and lots of conversations around the campfire. I am taking a day off at a support  camp which has internet.
