[Sundaycommunity] An interesting article from NCR . . .

Hi, everyone,

This article was posted on twitter by a woman here in Hamilton, whom I
haven't yet met but hope to one day.  Her name is Deirdre Pike and she is a
devout Catholic who is also a married lesbian.  She works on a part-time
basis for the Anglican archdiocese of Hamilton coordinating social justice
activities, also works for the Social Planning Council and is an
anti-poverty activist who occasionally writes for the Spec, usually on
issues about homelessness.   Anyway, she has made it openly clear that she
is upset with the Church and Francis for its refusal to accept members of
the LBGTQ community with open arms.

So, I think there is an important message in this article, no matter where
we find ourselves on the issue of gender.  (An important mentor, still a
close friend and my children's godfather is transgendered.)
