[Sundaycommunity] Booster shots in Ontario . .

Hi Patricia,
I was able to receive the booster a few weeks ago, but only because St. Michael’s hospital considers me high risk.

I had some pain in my arm for a day but no other side effects.

Despite the controversy, I’m grateful to have received it.

On the other hand, my neighbour has not had the vaccine because she is truly afraid of being one of the people who have serious side effects. She is prepared to leave the country if it is forced upon her as per what we heard in the news last week. I assured her that this would not occur because there would be legal roadblocks lasting for years.

Hi Patricia
I didn't feel well the first day after the booster. I felt great the next day with tons of energy. I'm so grateful to be able to have that booster. My niece who is an RT in Ajax says the hospital is completely overwhelmed. There are no beds available.
Peace
Sylvia

Hi, everyone,

I do not mean this email to be a spark to any discussion (for or against) the Covid vaccines. I have mixed feelings at this point about the value of them, and it seems from what I have read that some of the poorer countries in the global south are not experiencing what Europe and North America are experiencing with the Omicron variant. I haven't explored why. However, for the sake of those closest to me I did book myself for the booster shot at a nearby clinic in Hamilton. (They held this in an old movie theatre and there were a lot of people there, both to manage the process and to get their boosters.)

They didn't give a whole lot of information about possible side effects, but made sure to let everyone know that this was Moderna, not the Pfizer that I had while in the hospital. And while in the hospital, I was very much warned about possible side effects. Aside from hurting a bit I don't remember anything else. I haven't been able to access anything on the Government of Ontario's website about what to watch for, or how long to isolate.

However, today was pretty much a washout. I tried to get up this morning but went back to bed after sending a text that I wasn't up to chairing a committee meeting for the Odsp Action Coalition.

So, the question I have for those of you who have got your booster is: "have you had these side effects?" And, how long did it last?

(Right at the moment I am more concerned about the social/psychological/human side effects about more lockdowns. Our collective mental health is important, too!)

Love you all - I don't want to get into any arguments about this.

Peace, P.
