In response to the call of Pope Francis to make Ash Wednesday a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Ukraine, we will gather as staff and members of Development & Peace - Caritas Canada across Canada to pray the sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary.

There will be opening remarks from our Executive Director, Carl Hetu and a video recording shared from Caritas Ukraine who we are working with to help those most in need. Everyone is welcome to join us!

En réponse à l'appel du pape François de faire du mercredi des Cendres un jour de prière et de jeûne pour la paix en Ukraine, nous nous réunirons en tant que personnel et membres de Développement et Paix - Caritas Canada à travers le Canada pour prier les mystères douloureux du Rosaire.

Development and Peace is joining the Caritas Internationalis family, the CIDSE network and organizations like the Catholic Near East Welfare Association in responding to Caritas Ukraine’s call. We have made an immediate allocation of $75,000 to help with the provision of food, shelter, medical care and transport to safe locations.

As the conflict goes on, much more funding will be required to meet Ukrainians’ needs. Development and Peace therefore calls on Canadians to give generously.

Développement et Paix se joint à la famille de Caritas Internationalis, au réseau de la CIDSE et à des organisations comme l’Association catholique d’aide à l’Orient (CNEWA) pour répondre à l’appel de Caritas Ukraine. Nous avons fait une affectation immédiate de 75 000 $ pour répondre aux besoins d’aide en matière de nourriture, d’abris, de soins médicaux et de transport vers des lieux sûrs.
