Good response, Brian.

I am with the Romero House Community for the Eucharist every last Sunday of the month.

It may be good to recall that Pentecost, as a founding celebration of the early Church, was a gathering that was grounded in the living Spirit that probably did not yet depend on a particular person, or a person with a particular, named charism, to lead the Community gathering in prayer.
You are already familiar with this, not as a secret alternative but as the simple gathering in liturgical ritual of the community of believers.

It shouldn’t be difficult for you to put together a form of celebration, such as the one Brian notes here, one that has recognizable features of our traditional prayers, songs and readings—and perhaps looks like the Eucharist I some ways and unlike it in others.

The pivot and goal is to pray…and to pray simply truly and to do it together….always for the world that God so loved, (John 3) and always content for it to be, humbly, our Community’s way/form of praying.
May it go well.

Blessings always,
Jack

Subject: [Sundaycommunity] SONG PROGRAM for Sunday May 7th
Hi folks,

Here, attached, is the program of songs and refrains for this coming Sunday, May 7th, 2023, which is the 5th Sunday of Easter.

Looking ahead to Sunday, May 28th, Bill Watson has alerted us that we will likely not have a priest available for that Sunday. Also, Mary Lou and I have agreed to be the organizers for the liturgy that day. It happens to be PENTECOST SUNDAY, an important and loved feast-day in the Church, and a special celebration that we think we should not let go of, even if we do not have a priest presider. Mary Lou and I have begun looking at the readings for the day and are discussing how best to conduct a liturgy in this instance. We feel that a "Liturgy of the Word," with music, and with moments of group reflection and prayer, will work well. We will keep you posted on the details as we get closer to the date.

Bes wishes,
Brian
