Here are several items of interest to the Community.  A mini-newsletter, since the next People Progress will be July 23.

1. Summer Potluck Gatherings chez Elizabeth Whelan:

I will host three gatherings this summer at my house, starting around 5:15  PM on
Saturday, July 15
Saturday, August 5
Saturday, September 2 (‘traditional' Labour Day gathering)

They will follow the format of earlier Potlucks, and I’ll send out emails with more details before each one.

Please mark your calendars, and plan to join us, if you can!  I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but didn’t have 
the dates at that time.

3. Information updates about visits to Community Members:

Lee would love visitors. She is at Bridgepoint Care

Best times to visit are Tuesday, Thursday, Sat or Sunday or after 3 pm. (M, W and F)

Call first if you would like to bring food, which she loves. She does not care for the food there. Ask her if she would like it. 

Eating with others is much appreciated.

Sometimes, if there is a positive Covid test in the building they restrict outside food from coming in.

Kate Jackson has a slightly different address now and appreciates getting mail.

She has difficulty hearing on the phone so mail is preferable.

She is still at Christie Gardens but on the ground floor in the Courtyard and no longer has a separate mail box.

• Mary Lou Halferty
 Here are some instructions about calling or visiting Mary Lou.

Mary Lou is at True Davidson Acres, at 200 Dawes Road, Room 527, East York,  M4C 5M8. You can send cards or write to her at that address. 

She has her own phone: 416-686-8071. She is usually out of her room in the morning and thus away from her phone,  but she can usually be called in the afternoon or evening. The voicemail isn't activated so it isn't possible to leave a message. 

Visiting is welcomed. There is free parking at True Davidson Acres. If you park in the lot, make sure you make an entry in the vehicle log book at the front desk; name, license number, arrival time, etc.

If you are traveling by TTC, take the Bloor/Danforth subway, Line 2, to the Main Street Station. At Main, take the Dawes Rd bus (No
 23), eastbound. Exit the bus at Goodwood Park Court,  cross to the east side of Dawes Road,  using the crosswalk, and walk up the driveway of 200 Dawes Road to the entrance door. 

Upon entering the building, visitors are expected to use hand sanitizer, take a new surgical face mask from the dispenser and wear it while in the building, and sign in using one of the i-pads at the desk.
