[Sundaycommunity] Preparation for doing a HYBRID liturgy

Dear Brian and everyone associated with putting on this kind of liturgy.
I am listed (as far as my datebook indicates) to preside on Sept. 17th.

I can tell you that I remain an unconverted dummy with regard to the intricacies involved, but there may be some consolation in knowing that I have done this kind of Mass about four times now with our Romero House Community (RH) when we meet at Marrocco/Merton School.
Apart from a few sound adjustments needed (verified by a bit of testing before Mass starts) ) I’m told they have all gone well for the people who participate from a distance. It’s a tribute to our RH technicians, of course.

Having good technicians and keeping it simple seems to be our RH formula for it going well.

In case some communication with me (besides getting things tested with me for volume, voice, etc, before the Mass begins—which I’m happy to cooperate with) it may not be a problem. I’ll get there t last 30 min before start time.
Jack

Subject: [Sundaycommunity] Preparation for doing a HYBRID liturgy
Dear Sunday Community folks,

As has been announced, the Sunday Community is planning to have our first in-person liturgy in over 3 1/2 years. The date for this in-person Sunday Mass is September 17, 2023. It will be at Msgr Fraser Annex, 700 Markham Street, Toronto, at
11 AM.

We also want this to be a Hybrid liturgy event, not only in person, but able to be participated in via Zoom. To that end, a few of us from the community are meeting at the school, Msgr. Fraser, on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 30. We will be checking out the physical surroundings, doing an inventory on our liturgical supplies which have been stored there, and also, experimenting with getting onto the school's Wi-Fi so that we can try out the Zoom link, and also try out our new camera/microphone, and our new speaker. A couple of people are set up to join by Zoom from a distance: Art, from Vancouver Island, and Sylvia, from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Sylvia will also play some music on line, and we'll see how it comes through in the room. I will also play some music in the room, and see how it comes through online.

We would welcome the participation of a few other community members via Zoom, who could give us their assessment of how all this is coming through at their end. If you are interested in joining in on this, you can log on to Zoom at on August 30th at 2:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time. The time commitment would be no more than about half an hour.

You can use the following Zoom link, which is the same one we use on Sundays.
