Hi, all,

i had an appointment with the rehab specialist today and after a year, she
pronounced my wounded left foot healed.  That means that I can ge on with
the next stage of the process.  While she gets things set up for me at the
rehab centre, I can stop going to the wound care clinic every 3 days.  I do
think when somebody asked me how I was on Sunday, I did say that I was
getting tired of waiting for this partially amputated foot to heal.  Well,
it has.

I was also told that I won't need another prosthetic, but will likely be
fitted with an orthotic that will help with the balance, having lost the 3
big toes which are so important.  And that will be matched with some rehab
from a  physiotherapist to get my walking more stable.  I confess that I am
tired of this hobbling around and want to be able to walk more quickly and
smoothly.

I have had great medical care here in Hamilton and am very grateful for
it.  All the medical professionals here seem to know each other and don't
seem to be in so much of the competitive mode I found in Toronto between
hospitals and centres.  There is one medical faculty here and 3 major
hospitals, all with their own specialties.

And, I came home to turn on the radio and hear more bleak news from Israel.
