Hi, Dean,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and reflecting on it.  I've had similar
thoughts about Mary giving birth in a dirty and foreign place.  I wonder if
14 year olds were more used to some of the aspects of birth back then.
I really didn't now what swaddling clothes were until about the time I had
my first child.  (Very high tech, she was delivered in a hospital by
Ceasarean.)  This was the wat babies were wrapped beefore diapers were
invented about a hundred years ago.  It's surprising babies survived at all.
