You are moving  bravely—and decisively. I congratulate you on that. I hope you and Mary Lou  have a gentle passage over the coming days and weeks. She is a true trooper.
I will be ‘presiding’ from my room here at Lourdes. It has happened before when we have all ben aske to be on the ‘qui vive’ with regard to contact.

Brian,
So sorry to hear this. Our Christmas dinner on Dec 28, with our whole family had to be in isolation as our 2nd daughter tested positive that morning. The rest of us were but the grandcousins couldn't be together inside our new house so they exchanged gifts on our driveway and each family had take home Christmas dinner. It sure has been a trying time. Is there no end in sight for Covid? On top of that we've had 1
funeral and 2 visitations in the last week!
Thankful and grateful that we have a Zoom liturgy on Sunday. I am doing the 2nd reading.

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year.

And here, attached, is the program of songs and responses for our first Sunday celebration of 2024, namely Sunday, January 7th, 2024, which is The Feast if the Epiphany of the Lord.  This is the day, in the Halferty household, when the "Wise Guys", as our kids called them, would come down off the shelf or windowsill on which they had been "traveling" towards Bethlehem and would appear in the Creche scene, along with Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the angels and the shepherds, the cow, the donkey, a camel, etc.   It became a very crowded place.

Another New Years tradition that has developed for Mary Lou and I is COVID isolation.  We started New Year 2021 by going into a 10-day isolation in our apartment, not because we had COVID-19, but because Mary Lou's visiting PSW had come down with it and we had potentially been exposed to it.  Here we are, three years later, in the early days of New Year 2024, and I am in a 10-day isolation in the apartment because I tested positive for COVID this week; and Mary Lou is isolated or quarantined in her room at True Davidson Acres because I had been visiting her and she was potentially exposed to the virus.  And they're trying to be extra careful on her unit, because a number of residents have had active COVID over the past ten days or so.

One of the results of all of this is that I will be joining our liturgy ZOOM call on my own, from the apartment, this Sunday, and Mary Lou will be unable to join us.  Hopefully, as time and COVID move on, things will soon return to normal.
