I watched a remarkable and extremely moving film this afternoon entitled Origin:

“Origin is a 2023 American biographical drama film written and directed by Ava DuVernay. It is based on the life of Isabel Wilkerson, played by Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, as she writes the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.” (Google)

The following note was displayed at the end of the film just before the credits:

CASTE, written by Isabel Wilkerson, debuted at number two on the New York Times Best Seller List in August 2020, two months after the murder of George Floyd… The critically acclaimed book remained among the top in the nation for 58 weeks, rising to number one on the week of the 2020 US Presidential Election.

I would highly recommend this film all members of the Sunday Community! Below are links to the IMDb information on the film as well as a review of the film that appeared in the Catholic Standard. I have also included two links to trailers for the film that I found on YouTube…
