I live in a co-op ho, using building!!!!  (the Stanley Knowles Housing Co-op!)  The rents are Good - no subsidy, but it is GOOOODD.
You move in on Sept.1.  it will be a good move, of this I am sure.  Welcome to the "BUSINESS of Seniors living in a home!"(!)  Is it co-op or not?
YOU WILL ENJOY IT, of this I am certain!

I have been offered a subsidized, rent-geared-to-income apartment here in Hamilton!  I have been on the waiting list since moving here, a process that has not been without its trials and tribulations to my inabilities in dealing with stressful situations. Since moving here I have been living in a nice house in the east end of the city.  While it is well-located in many ways I've been waiting anxiously for that offer of housing.
I am going to see the  apartment on Tuesday and make my arrangements for moving in at that time.  I am expecting to move in September 1.  I have offers of help from family and friends here and will use the excellent moving company that moved me here from my apartment in Toronto.
I will be on the 20th floor of a lovely building, which will be a big change for me.  There is no balcony but there is a rooftop garden and lots of well-used social space.  With almost 500 residents (all seniors) this will be a welcome relief to my often bored and somewhat lonely existence in the house.
I will send my new address to the community when I move.  I am and will remain at the same phone number (647-517-1599) for talk and texts.
