Dear Catherine,
We are so sorry to hear of the tragic death of your brother and the terrible injuries sustained by your sister in law. Life certainly throws tragedies and challenges our way at times.
May the many prayers and positive thoughts showering your family bring you comfort and a sense of peace.

Catherine,
What a tragic story! I'm so sorry for you having lost your brother, Tim. It sounds like there is strong family support for Gemma, which is good. Blessings to her, to you, and to all the family as you make your way through this time.
God bless,
Brian

Hi dear friends
I’m so sorry to have forwarded the fundraising email without having given you the reason behind it. My brother and sister in laws, Tim and Gemma, were in a bad car accident on their way up from New Jersey to visit me in Toronto last Thursday. Tim died immediately and Gemma has 2 fractured hips, a fractured elbow,, the opposite fractured hand and a head injury. So all 4 limbs are incapacitated. They have 6 adult children who have been up here in Syracuse where Gemma has already undergone 3 surgeries for the hips and elbow with lots of pins and plates and a rod down one leg. She may need surgery in her hand as well but so far it’s just in a cast with no weight-bearing. She has 3 weeks ahead at least of ‘acute rehabilitation’ even before she goes home. The kids and my daughter Amanda and I have been here too. We’ve had to stay in hotels and air bnb’s and it’s getting quite expensive as you can probably understand. Amanda and I are ok but at least 2 of the kids will be here with her till she gets home, helping her with her physical needs and everyone with our emotional needs.
So that’s the story.
Thanks for your prayers and please don’t feel any pressure to join the fundraising.
Blessings, Catherine
When life wins there will be no losers. A'Ida Shibli
