Hi Everyone
Many or you knew Elizabeth Whelan and some of you attended the Friday evening Vigil in front of the Israeli Consulate in Toronto and went back to Elizabeth's place for a pot luck and community afterwards. We did this for many years.
Elizabeth was the last to send out the reminders of the Vigil/Pot Luck. Several of us have expressed an interest in continuing this once a month, although we won't have Elizabeth's place to gather and be warmed by a bowl of soup as soon as we entered her lovely home.
Unfortunately we don't have access to Elizabeth's lists (or the banner and posters yet), so I am going to send out a few emails and you may get a few.
Next Friday, Zatoun is holding an event at Trinity-St. Paul's at 7:30pm. I'll try to attach the link or flyer to this email. We thought it would be a good idea to gather at the Vigil first, get a quick bite to eat and then go to Trinity-St. Paul's for 7:30pm.
Please let others know about this as well.
Peace
Sylvia Skrepichuk
Not a Retirement Party - Friday, Nov 8 at 7:30pm
We just passed another anniversary, a commemoration of a genocide in Gaza and now expanding beyond. It might seem that an event to celebrate Zatoun is not appropriate. On the contrary, we need to celebrate eternal solidarity with the ongoing struggle for truth, justice and peace everywhere.

After 20 glorious years
This is not a retirement party! Zatoun is far from retiring after 20 years as a grassroots organization bringing fair trade olive oil from Palestine. Started in April 2004 in Toronto, Zatoun has become much appreciated and loved across Canada and US. On this special night Zatoun invites the many waves of enthusiastic volunteers and committed supporters to celebrate the milestone together. Even amidst genocide a community needs to celebrate in order to rededicate itself to continuing the struggle.
Come to meet old friends and make new ones
Doors open at 7:30pm for "meet and greet" and light refreshments (signature cardamom coffee, sage tea and mint water).
International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF), a top-rated charity in Canada will be present to accept your donations for emergency aid to families in Gaza. Tax receipts issued.
