Thank YOU Maryanne, you have done up a GOOD "LISTING" of "LUCIA"!!!!!!!!!!  YOU two were VERY GOOD friends of LUCIA.  I did not get a chance to know her in depth, but from all of the PRAISES that have come from people LIKE the pair of you, she must have been ( AND  IS ! ) quite a GOOD LADY!!!!

Thank you, Maryanne and Roberto, for the slideshowwith the beautiful photos of Lúcia and friends. I met Lúcia only once in personwhen I visited her at St. Michael’s Hospital in March 2024. I was veryimpressed with Lúcia’s vivacious spirit, her gusto for life and her sharingabout her translation work (as I linguist, I was very interested in this!), hercourage in facing the struggle with cancer and above all, her faith. We prayedtogether that day. Today, I remembered Lúcia in my Masses, here in Boa Vista,in Roraima Diocese, in the northernmost part of Brazil.

 Lúciaembodied the Brazilian spirit of reaching out, of being “comunicativa – “communicative”– a descriptor used often here in Brazil to describe someone who takes theinitiative and makes people feel welcomed, recognized, respected, loved. 

Indeed, Jesus' words in today’s Gospel speakaptly about Lúcia: “Thespirit of the Lord has been given to me, for he has anointed me. He has sent meto bring the good news to the poor….”

Lúcia truly lived the Good News. Rest in peace, Lúcia, in God’s eternalabraço!
