The horrors of October 7 and 15 months of brutal warfare in Gaza, along with settler violence and an annexation agenda in the West Bank, have divided Israelis and Palestinians more deeply than ever and intensified uncompromising militancy on both sides.


Is there a way forward out of the cycles of violence? Ibrahim Dalalsha, Palestinian political adviser, scholar and exponent of peace, believes there is.


Ibrahim’s theme is established with a quote by Ronald Reagan: “Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means.” The discussion will touch on many relevant issues including: the Gaza ceasefire and what comes after, the situation in the West Bank, whether Hamas can be replaced, the future of the Palestinian Authority, and the role of the international community – particularly the US – in peace building.

Mr. Ibrahim Eid Dalalsha is one of the leading analysts of Palestinian politics in the Middle East. He is the founder and director of the Horizon Center for Political Studies and Media Outreach, an independent organization based in Palestine and dedicated to promoting a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Prior to founding the Horizon Center, Dalalsha served for two decades as the Senior Political Advisor at the US Consulate General in Jerusalem, advising US officials on the Peace Process, on Palestinian politics, state development, and civil society and on extremist movements. Dalalsha has an unparalleled network of contacts and close working relationships with key Palestinian officials, civil society leaders and political activists across the spectrum.


Dalalsha played an integral role in peace negotiations across the Middle East, including the ceasefire negotiations held in 2014 Cairo, Secretary Kerry’s Peace Initiative in 2013-2014, and President Bush’s Annapolis Peace Conference in 2009. Prior to joining the US State Department, he worked as an officer with the United Nations Refugee and Works Agency from 1992-1998 and as a program officer for the National Democratic Institute.
