Some thoughts
For what they’re worth
The community has an incredible depth of outstanding analyses And
We have been sharing very intelligent and thought-provoking reflections on
what is happening in the United States, And as always, the United States
takes itself as the leader of the world. Nothing new there.

But I fear There is a danger we are losing ourselves in this as Canadians.

“ Trump”. Is actually the main candidate in both our federal and provincial
elections right now

Having him as the head of the agenda has effectively ended discussion.
Regarding The real needs of the people of Ontario or Canada.

In Ontario from my perspective, Marit Stiles Leader of the Ontario NDP. Is
focussing constructively on the needs of people in the north of Ontario
—in the cities —and everywhere in between.
Heakth , education, housing are foremost among the realities which the
Ontario government is responsible for.

Unfortunately, Ford seems to be using” Trump” As his ticket to get
reelected.

As for the federal government,
It is definitely responsible for protecting the Canadian economy, as all of
us are a part of that— And preventing Foreign interference or penalization.
As well as threats to federal sovereignty.
However, even here there are enormous issues for Canadians again, Housing
and healthcare being probably. the most important as well as the ongoing
inequality and for Indigenous Canadians.
Furthermore, at this moment, we are quietly overlooking the extreme
increase in deaths as a result of assisted suicide, And what this points to
as what is lacking in total healthcare For the vulnerable.

Now the government Is moving towards MAiD By advanced directives. As
someone said to me the ultimate in ageism.
No one is engaging in a serious discussion of how this would change every
relationship we have with older people in our lives.

These are just some examples of what we are not talking about.
Yes, That Man takes all the air out of the room and Is being given
dominance all the air waves.
But Do we not have our own province and country As our first priority?

I feel every time I say his name I’m giving him what he wants.

Anyway, those are a few thoughts that I thought I just voice

Thanks again for all the sharing.
Martha
