Hello everyone!
Sounds like you are in fine shape as one liturgical year ends and another begins.
It reminds me—after 14 years as president of ‘Regis’, (which is named literally after Christ the KIng!) and a few more years ‘just teaching’ there, how many times I needed to slow down... and quietly hear what the Feast might be opening up up-- for me and for us—and might also reveal, with the passage of time.
I don’t remember a word I said! But the theme of the Feast was not forgotten... That is:...
Say it briefly, Jack...Say it briefly!
Conversion, I came to realize,, was often yearned for but seldom realized. A kingly hope!
Love and best wishes to you all. I hope you are very well.
Jack

Greetings everyone,
This coming Sunday, November 23, 2025, is the feast of Christ the King -- the final Sunday of the liturgical year. Since we do not have a priest available for this Sunday, our liturgy will be lay-led by John and Mary MacMillan. The liturgy outline is attached; it includes the songs and responses, but also prayers and blessings for the day.
In naming Jesus Christ the "King" of the universe, the Christian church was using the verbal and structural model of ancient society in which the chief person in power, who held control over everything, was a King, or an Emperor. Modern and contemporary theologians have tried to describe the reality of Christ in different terms. For example, Richard Rohr, in his book, "The Universal Christ", has tried to put into words an understanding of Christ as being present within and throughout all that exists in the universe, including within each of us. As such, Christ can be understood as the source of life and love which animates and sustains all that is.
Next Sunday, November 30th, will be the beginning of our new liturgical year, and the First Sunday of Advent.
Best wishes to all,
Brian
