Hello all,
For those of you who missed our latest gathering, what followed our lay led
liturgy this morning there followed an interesting discussion about the
possibility of having communion during our zoom gathering.
Bill started the discussion by mentioning that non-Catholic communities who
gather in such a way bring a piece of their own bread to their
celebrations. I've heard the same thing. I think we were pretty much in
agreement about the value of this but want to know how our priests feel
about this. So, Bill will contact them.
Further discussions about how we manage the lack of celebrants (our roster
is getting shorter!) will mean more lay led liturgies. Should the leaders
simply become our celebrant?
There were voices who believed that no decision should be made without a
community meeting. I think we can all voice our thoughts and feelings
through email. I would join such a meeting as lonn as there was a
moderator who allowed everyone who wanted to speak to have their say.
This community has been a work in progress as long as I belonged. The next
step is dealing with the shortage of priests. So, are we up to a meeting?
I confess I don't know how to use zoom well enough to chair this meeting.
Peace to all, Pat
