I  Really appreciate your raising the  under reported   issue  of  MAiD ,
and  the pernicious escalation of death by assisted suicide in Canada.

Canada has the dishonour of having the fastest rising rate of assisted
suicide deaths of any country in  The world.

In 2024 there were 16,499 deaths by what is essentially  Euthanasia,
because it is  Death carried out by another person upon the Patient.

It was spoken of as something that would be only used in extreme cases.
But it is now often offered easily  and is being normalized so  Rapidly

In fact, we all know that many people who need mental healthcare,
palliative care, long-term care, financial assistance with housing or
medication’s or rehabilitation are being offered none of the above, but
they have a “right“
To be assisted to die.

I think most people don’t know what to do with   This situation.

I think doctors and nurses are feeling that they have no conscience rights.


How did we get here?

One thing we can do is to support Bill C 218
Brought forward by MP Tamara Jensen.
It is a private members bill to prevent assisted suicide being extended on
the basis of mental illness.
Advocates for this bill  Call for proper provision of mental healthcare
across the country.

We can each ask our member of Parliament to at least vote for this private
members Bill C218 so that we can begin to slow down this dreadful avalanche

It is time to-stand back and really ask if this is what we want. If this is
who  we want to become.


The last thing I’d like to say is how much I fear that older people,
(like many of us now ar
Will become influenced by a kind of perverse. UNselfishness – – “I don’t
want to burden my family with having to take care of me“.
Oh dear.
