I feel honoured and privileged, because as a woman, we would normally never be allowed to have that role in the Catholic Church, to ‘be’ Jesus, in reading the passion. As I write this, I think that even that very fact that I feel privileged as a woman, shouldn’t be. It aught to be the norm to proclaim the Word whether female or not. We have a long way to go. And I am truly grateful for this community and the steps we take together to move forward.
