Coping with disability - I didn't know that Walt Whitman was paralyzed by a stroke. However, he had a sense of radical resilience and knew how to enjoy the second half of his life and be grateful for all the goodness there was. I found this inspiring and I hope you do, too. Even for those of you who live in a very urban environment, there is lots of nature to commune with in parks and by Lake Ontario.
(I haven't read Leaves of Grass in at least a couple of decades, but this is inspiring me to go back to it. I believe I still have my copy.)
