<p>Hi all</p>
<p>This morning I was part of a discussion on scientific dualism and
mechanistic science vs quantum science which seeks to unify
subject and object in a nondual understanding of the cosmos. This
is a theme that was highlighted in colleague Mark Hathaway's and
Leonardo Boff's book, <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://orbisbooks.com/products/the-tao-of-liberation"><u>The
Tao of Liberation</u>.</a> It also forms a central part of
Laudato Si. This divide between matter and spirit is core to
Richard Rohr's <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.spiritualityandpractice.com/book-reviews/view/28759/the-universal-christ"><u>The
Universal Christ</u></a>. Finally in a recent book by Mateus
Desmit <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/60430391-the-psychology-of-totalitarianism"><u>The
Psychology of Totalitarianism</u></a> mechanical dualistic
science is posited as leading to a totalitarian technocratic
delusional psychosis. <br>

<p>This lecture by Rupert Sheldrake is an excellent synopsis of
Sheldrake's book <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.amazon.com/Science-Set-Free-Paths-Discovery/dp/0770436722"><u>Science
Set Free.</u></a> I believe it is a key work to understanding
the break through implications in the philosophy of science
afforded by discoveries in quantum science and the theory of
relativity. It affords a a more spiritual view of the universe
hearkening back to the philosophical wisdom that preceded the
presentation of mind/spirit vs. material body proposed by
Descates and Bacon.</p>
