Texas-based Bemp Research has developed a lithium-sulphur battery made with carbonized hemp instead of heavy metals such as cobalt and nickel — although it still requires lithium. The batteries are more lightweight and durable, higher performing and easier to recycle than lithium-ion batteries.</p>
