less extreme political landscape.</div>

<div dir="auto">Unfortunately, the rapidly devolving</div>
<div dir="auto">Regulations permitting </div>
<div dir="auto">,and indeed in many cases now promoting, Assisted
suicide in Canada, have far fewer safeguards then almost
anywhere in the world.</div>
<div dir="auto">I have helped to sponsor several online lectures
on the topic. Just to mention a couple of things that would be
of concern:</div>
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">Assisted Suicide Is being offered to people as a
“faster” treatment Because indeed the waiting list so long for
mental health treatment.</div>
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">Indeed , in a country where at most 30% of those
in need of palliative care have access to it , What is the
message we are giving to our fellow Canadians who are facing
serious illness when the only guaranteed treatment they have
is MAiD?</div>
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">And a few things for people like ourselves who are
conscious of social justice,</div>
<div dir="auto"> —Women live longer than men and are for more
likely to feel pressure to not burden others , And die
prematurely bye assisted suicide;</div>
<div dir="auto">— nothing could be more utilitarianly </div>
<div dir="auto">Cost-efficient then assisted suicide – – it is
cheaper than medical care.</div>

<div dir="auto">Please consider viewing some of the excellent
speakers (palliative care specialist, Psychiatrist, lawyers,]
Who volunteered their time for the online lectures held over the
last few years by the deVeber institute.</div>
