It shows that by 2030, almost half of global electricity supply will be from renewable energy, 10 times as many electric vehicles will be on the road, heat pumps and other electric systems will outsell oil and gas boilers, and investments in new offshore wind projects will be three times higher than in coal and gas plants. The IEA cautions that more needs to be done, but the renewable energy revolution is “unstoppable!”</p>

Technological advances mean modern heat pumps work efficiently in cold climates and in old buildings. They’re an important climate solution, as heating generates around four billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, or eight per cent of global emissions.</p>
