He has lived in Israel for four years and returned a number of times, most recently joining two delegations of North American Jews in direct, on-the-ground support for Palestinians struggling for their very existence on their land. For decades he was a devoted liberal or progressive Zionist. In recent years, he has become an anti-Zionist, no longer believing that there should be a Jewish state.
