<p style="margin:0cm"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:10pt">I’m a postdoc at the University of Waterloo who works at the intersection of mining, climate change, and health. Isaiah Ritzmann is with Kitchener Ontario’s Working Centre,
where part of his work is in the area of climate change education. Together, we have been working on an issue of concern to us both – Energy Descent. This idea recognizes that while the energy transition is essential as we face a changing climate, it's not
sufficient.</span></p>

<p style="margin:0cm"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:10pt">As you know with all the work you do through Petrocultures, extractivism is not benign. Isaiah and I, with some great support, have been working on this idea for a while now,
and the output is a public, signable letter advocating for Energy Descent, and urging public conversation about the issue. </span></p>
