I am, also, a huge fan of Bill Maher as a secular voice that certainly speaks ‘truth to power’. (The video is somewhat dated, of course, but for those interested, his show is available on CNN on Saturday evenings.)<br>

for contributing the ‘prophetic voice’ of Rev. Maggie Helwig whom some may not know.<br>
(I know her church well. As a child, I lived nearby and went to nursery school there and now sometimes go to Free Times Cafe nearby.) <br>
I did not know that she has written a new book, ‘Encampment’ on her work, but I plan to read it and hope others in our community will also do so. She certainly deserved the award, <br>
but I had not known that it was the day before the police dismantled the encampment at the church. (Many outside the GTA are unaware of the inadequacy of our shelter system that drives the homeless to encampments.)<br>
<br>
Dean, thank you for expanding our consciousness and not limiting your contribution to a human voice but rather to the ‘Cry of the Earth’. Your words embrace Creation Centred Spirituality and the environmental movement. <br>
Thank you also for the analogy to Jonah and the people of Ninevah. (On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) the story of Jonah is always included.<br>

(Perhaps we owe Brian a note of thanks for unknowingly stimulating your reflection!!!)<br>
