Gaudete, meaning "Rejoice", was/is the first word of the "Entrance Antiphon" for the liturgy of the day. Just as in the season of Lent, one of the Sundays in the middle of this somber and penitential season of Advent has always been taken as a time to rejoice, or at least to bring to mind that we will soon be rejoicing at the arrival of Christmas. Let us touch into the joy that is offered to us, given to us, by our loving God.
