The PBO is estimating $77 billion for the warships. This is about the same cost as the fighter jet report. See the PBO’s infographic here.

Also, the costs don’t  include other costs i.e. for offsetting the carbon emissions of the new fighter jets. Including these other costs are where I think we can make an important distinction and a valuable contribution from the pure PBO and Auditor General economic reports.

As well, this week the PBO released a report that said it will cost $15 billion for the federal government to meet the Jordan Principle and compensate First Nations communities for lack of social services.
