[Sundaycommunity] quick note re your posts

Lee, I too am an intuitive and have made the mistake, more than once, of unintentionally sending a message to a whole group when I meant to send to a particular individual. I know the sinking feeling after realizing the mistake. You said what you said to Brian because, as you mentioned, you like him, but also because you care about him. I am remembering the book, Caring Enough to Confront by David Augsburger. I think it takes a lot of caring and a lot of courage in speaking as you did.
And you are correct, Brian is a sensor.:)

EXTERNAL EMAIL:
So, everyone,

I just got off the phone from talking to Brian. I thought I was writing only and directly to him, but my letter became a cyberspace renegade. I’m sorry.

Brian was, as he would be, gracious and humorous I think he’s a sensor on the Myers Briggs personality inventory. He agreed that he likes facts and specific details. I, of course, an an intuitive, and not uncommonly trip over inconvenient facts that get underfoot as I am focused on the far horizon. As witness my inability to get the formula (detail) that would have allowed me to email just Brian.

If we were all like me, no one would ever cook supper. Sigh.

Ah well, we plod on. Thanks for listening,

Lee

Hi, Lee

It is hard when someone who is one of the best minds and spirits in the Community sees things so very differently from you.

And just when I thought things were going very good in many ways.

The plus side is it keeps you humble like nothing else.

BUT TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE, OR THOU CAN'T BE TRUE TO ANY MAN OR WOMAN."

So we walk the next stretch separately for now, hoping that our paths will happily converge some time soon. :)

Dear Brian,

I have decided to write to you directly because I like you. I enjoy seeing you and talking to you. A lot of the things you post make me sad, because it appears that you do not feel you are worth more than many sparrows (at the very, very least.)

And liking you as I do, I want to write and say that I find most of the things you post tedious. I delete them, usually without reading them. (Though that article about why people are walking away from the church was a great one and started an interesting conversation.) Today I glanced at the first couple of lines and saw you and Maria were talking a stroll through patriarchal evangelical thinking. I can’t even call it Christianity.

So I just want to say, if you need to post these things so you can come on them and read them again, though most people seem to find them pretty irrelevant, I guess that’s one use for the community list. For me and many others, it’s enough to work to live following the guidance of Jesus. That takes most of us through our whole lives. Hard work and no complaints. Maria for me is beyond superfluous. And for those who care about these things, she is on the Index, which I didn’t even know still existed until somebody mentioned it.

Maybe some others have written and told you they like it. It would not be what I would expect, but we’re all different. But for me, I find this is one of those situations where I would not want my silence to imply enjoyment. Or even endurance. But I have no need to announce that to all and sundry.

Thanks for listening, Brian,

Lee
