Highlights and Upcoming Events
This Saturday: World Day of Prayer for Women's Ordination
On Saturday, March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation, we mark the World Day
of Prayer for Women's Ordination. This year, join us for a 30-minute
virtual prayer service at 11 a.m. ET with the theme of "Our Lady of the Way":
an ancient name for Mary with contemporary resonance as we walk the synodal
way towards a renewed Church with renewed priesthood for all genders.

She Who Shows Us the Way is our model and our inspiration for saying "yes"
to the call of God, even to what seems impossible in the world we live in,
and for having unwavering hope. She is a fitting inspiration for our 29th
annual World Day of Prayer for Women’s Ordination. Please join us!

Pope Francis said that "everyone, everyone" who participates as a member in
the synod will vote—including any women participating. We will have to wait
to learn if or how many women will be named members of the synod, but this
openness is a significant shift from the Vatican.

This is an important step for our Votes for Catholic Women campaign, which
Pope Francis even references in his interview: "the question was asked: Why
can’t women vote? Are they second-class Christians?"

That question WAS asked by WOC and so many of you who supported Votes for
Catholic Women over the years.

We will continue to press for full equality in the synod process, even as
we celebrate the progress we've made. (We even have new Votes for Catholic

WOC is hiring: Development Associate
WOC seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to support the
fundraising operations of our membership organization. This part-time
non-exempt position is responsible for development administration, database
maintenance, and support of WOC’s solicitation cycles.

Nomination applications are due April 1, 2023 with personal interviews
conducted in May. The new Board member term begins in the fall of 2023.
