[Sundaycommunity] NCR criticizes US bishops statement on transgender as being anti-woke

Art, I find your argument a little disturbing.  I wonder if you have ever
been close to a transgender person and walked through their exeriences with
them?  This business about trangendered  people is to bring them out of the
closet.  They are not freaks of nature and the situation is not funny.
There is a difference between those who are homosexual (male or female) and
those who feel they are transgendered.  They were born into the wrong body.

My dearest and oldest friend in the world is a man who was born into a
woman's body.  When I first met him, he was living a woman and  preparing
himself for his eventual transition.  I was one of the few people around
him who knew about this (long story behind that!)  Anyway,  he is now 70,
has been happily married for 35 years to a heterosexual woman and it's been
a long time since he felt he needed to destroy himself.  You may have met
him if you were at the Sunday Community mass where my daughter had her
first communion.  He is a Catholic and sponsored my entrance into the
church 45 years ag

I was shocked to hear from him that in the U.S. doctors can refuseto treat
a patient for any condition or disease if the patient is transgendered.
This relates even to something oike cancer.

I don't think there is any conspiracy here.  I only know that this person
who has meant so much in my life (and hundreds of others) has had a
rewarding and peaceful life since his transition and he is a truly
God-loving person who now feels comfortable in his body.  I might add that
transphobia in the world is something he has to deal with, too, especially
in the American church.
